I don't know how to do that.
Can you tell me how to try browsing the printer's web pages from the Netgear DGN2000?

See if you browse to the printer's internal page from your computer. Enter the printer's IP address in IE (or whatever browser you are using) and see if that brings up the printer's web page.
If it does, then we know that connectivity between the printer and Laserjet is working.

...sorry Jim, I think you've lost me.
"See if you browse to the printer's internal page from your computer. Enter the printer's IP address in IE (or whatever browser you are using) and see if that brings up the printer's web page."
Yes, it does - and always has done.
"If it does, then we know that connectivity between the printer and Laserjet is working." (ie. we know that connectivity between the printer and the printer is working.)
I thought in your last post you were talking about connections between the router and the printer to talk to one another.
Something's gone awry here - please, do explain...

The simplest way to check the connection between the printer, the Netgear wireless-router and your Macbook is to try and access the printer's internal web page from your MBP. You do this by browsing to the printer's IP address.
If you gotten this far, then you need to finish up by installing the printer SW on your computer. You can install the basic print driver from the Print & Fax application that I mentioned in an earlier post.

I've dealt with this before in our school environment. The only way I was able to resolve the problem was to utilize WEP Authentication and WEP Encryption. I also found that you cannot be connected via the ethernet cable or it disables the wireless connection.

In case if somebody keep fighting to get HP LaserJet 1022nw connected to secure WiFi network, I'm posting one successful configuration. Shamefully, security Option "WPA2-PSK" didn't work.
ROUTER
König CMP-WNROUT10 V1.0 081520C2
DHCP Settings enabled
Wireless Settings
- SSID: FFAII
- Channel: 6
- Mode: 54Mbps (802.11g)
- Security Type: WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK
- Security Option: WPA-PSK
- Encryption: TKIP
- PSK Passphrase: Some5Letters6Numbers
HP LaserJet 1022nw
Firmware Datecode: 20061215
Wireless Radio Datecode: 040705
Networking, Wireless
- Communication Mode: Infrastructure
- Network Name (SSID): Enter Network Name (SSID): FFAII
- Authentication: WPA-PSK (Requires a Pass-phrase and dynamic encryption)
Pass-phrase (8 to 63 characters): Some5Letters6Numbers
- Encryption: Dynamic (WPA-PSK authentication only)
- TCP/IP Automatic IP
After all that wasted time, suggesting to choose another WiFi printer. My choice is Brother HL-2270DW. So far easy and successfully connected to different networks with acceptable security configurations.
