no scan option. under system preferences the scanner does not show.

first time installation. network had to use ip as the bonjour did not come up.

Hi SarelHanekom,

If you added the printer queue using the IP the scan option via Print & Scan is not available. Also scanning via Preview or Image Capture will not be available. It is necessary that you add/setup the device via Bonjour indeed.

So question is, why did the device not appear via Bonjour. Did you verify the router you use does support Bonjour? Maybe the ports for Bonjour are blocked in the router?
