I had same problem; HP replaced the head---Problem remains and is intermittent.  Paper does not matter.

Did you use the same cartridges once the printhead was replaced?

I hope someone has figured the verticle---and horiz stripes out in the past few weeks.  HP just sent me an 8600 Plus to replace 3 6700 models thta continued to do the same thing.  I was so disappointed today after I hooked it up and found the same lines---now only 1 in spaced instead fo the 1/2 on the 6700- appreaing AGAIN.  Did it when copying straight from the scan/copy tray and also when printing photos from the computer.  Finally go tthe ones to disappear when printing from the computer by changing some setting---afraid and too tired to try the copy again.  so sick of the HP quality going to the dogs!!!  I ahve used HP for probably 30 yrs without any problems---and now nothing but.

Black lines keep showing up, intermittenly  when I print color pictures to my OJ8600  premium. Seems more prevalent  when I use two-sided printing.  HP sent me new print heads and new starter cartridges.  Problem remains the same.  I sent HP about 100 pages of samples showing the problem. (You can guess my expenses for wasted ink & paper). They had requested samples.  I never heard back form them.  I did however buy the extended warrant.  The problem persists and I waste a lot of ink & paper trying to self publish a short children's books of photos.  Most probably the last HP I'll ever buy.
