os x lion 10.7 printer problem

Got a new Photosmart e-all-in-one C310 from Costco and when I inserted the HP driver CD into the Mac, running 10.7/lion, I got an error message that the operating system is not compatible - - must be 10.6 or below.

Instructions with the HP printer state NOT to attach the USB cable until told to do so. For now, I don't care about wireless. I just want to be able to print.

Get the latest software for your printer from the "Support & Drivers" link at the top of this page.

Sorry, drivers and software is not available through this link, yet.   Use Software Update (using your Apple menu).

yes, the current HP CD will not install onto LIon as the sw was designed for previous versions of OS X.   However, the C310 is supported with Lion.  

for now,  see if you can setup the printer and configure to the network using the printers front panel.  Then, once printer is available to the Mac  (USB or network), you can "Add Printer" from System Preferences / Print & Scan, and the Mac will download the C310 software using Apple Software Updates.

You can add the printer but it says:

Looking for printer.

The printer is not connected.

Please help fix this issue!!

I've been having problems printing ever since installing Lion. I uninstalled the driver for my Officejet 6500A Plus, which had been working fine connected wirelessly to my airport using Snow Leopard.  Now when I down;oad the driver and try to launch it says that it's not compatible with 10.7.

Arrrrgh!

So now my printer sits there and there is no driver to make it work. Any thoughts?

In order to install the printer, simply connect it to your mac (Or to the same network as your mac) Without installing any Software.

Enter System Preferences > Scan & Print.

Click the Plus sign and select your printer.

Reboot your Mac and then check for any available HP update

(Apple Menu > Software Update)

A full feature software for lion is still in progress and should be available soon.

I cannot print to the fax on my HP Officejet 6500.  This worked well in SL.  I can do normal printing and scanning without error.

I see that the software is supposed to be in the Apple Update site.  My computer says it is up to date.

Does anyone have input on this problem?

I decided to install 10.7 to clean up some of the slow or quirky email things. Well, never purchase something in the first 30 days of release. I can not print to my Konica Minolta BuzHub C353,  This is the lifeblood of my office and business.

Now, NOTHING. I have spent time on-line. Time with Konica, times several live conversations with Apple. I even went to hard IP input, still nothing. It will not recognize the printer, does not see any of my 6 printers on my network. Yes, I have HPs, and Phasers, and the C353 too.

Hi. I have a HP 5550, having a problem printing since updating to 10.7.

However, not sure if its a problem with the OS. 

The orange light on the front of the printer is flashing, which I usually ignore until the ink completely runs out.

But now, the printer is connected but message on the printer cntrol panel says 'printing page'

But, doesn't get above 12% then... nothing!

Any ideas?
