i'm trying to print a photo in istudio (same problem in iphoto) and i am unable to change the margins.  it is set at .06 top, .12 left and right, .57 bottom.  i've tried to change it to 0 in the page set up, and i've also set the document margins at 0, but it still prints with the hp preset margins.  how to i change the margins?

You have to set the paper size to whatever you want + boarderless.   For example, 4x6 boarderless.

i've tried setting it to borderless, but it still prints with those margins

When you start a print job (File > Print or Command-P) choose 4x6 boarderless as the paper size and 4x6 as the print size.  That should work.

The specific model does not support any borderless size beside Borderless B5, as you may find be the product specification below:

http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02105426

Changing the margins to 0 will be rejected as it is not supported by the hardware.

The minumum margins are as following:

Top: 0.06

Right & Left: 0.125

Bottom: 0.57

In order to get the image printed centerly, you should set the bottom , left and right margins as described above, and change the top margin as 0.57.

Shlomi

I have a problem with left margins. When I print 2 pages per page I lose about 3 characters at the left hand side of the printout. I thought reducing left hand margin would solve the problem, but I do not know how to change margin. Pl help.

I agree and even i have same issue, most of people try to give generic answer as they never face this issue. This problem is with HP 3050A printer.
