I just had to reformat my DV1000 due to a corrupt Windows XP installation. I downloaded the drivers from the HP website but they will not install, it just says FAILURE at the end of attempting to install them.

The p/n of my laptop is ED338AV. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Hi,

All drivers for Your model are here.

First install chipset driver and reboot. here

Before installation of sound driver remember about installing MS-UAA first here

When You will do that start installing other things.

If You will still have any troubles write first which SP are You using on this XP system. SP1, SP2 or SP3?

Thanks Daniel, it worked like a charm. Everything is back to the way it was before I had the Windows XP Pro issues.

Kudos left for you and thanks again!!

Last one? Which is?

Go to Control Panel -> System -> Hardware -> Devices Manager

Click with right button of Your mouse on each yellow sign and choose properties. Then go to bottom details and paste here device id. This way we will know what it is. 🙂
