I did all the updates that HP had pending for my Envy and lost sound from my PC.
I ten updated drivers & it did not fix the issue.
I was able to Restore to before the updates & the sound returned.
Why is this happening......?? These kind of issues are a nightmare for us customers....and
makes me wish I returned the laptop to the store....but alas, now it is too late to return.
I'm afraid to update my PC because of this.
Please advise.

Your machine is an HP ENVY m7-n101dx. Please download and install the following Realtek High-Definition (HD) Audio Driver for Windows 10:
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp74501-75000/sp74867.exe

Do I do this before downloading the HP updates or after???
Please advise....as there is a Realtek HD Audio download pending in HP Support Asst on my PC - and after downloading that is when I lost sound.

Please try it after HPSA. You may not need it because HPSA may use the same fix.
