When I plug in an external monitor, I lose sound

The speakers don't work on the laptop when I plug in an external monitor.  When I run a check, it says they are working properly.

Re: When I plug in an external monitor, I lose sound

Tomandiris, welcome to the forum.

When requesting help, you should always include the make/model of the computer and/or monitor. This information is necessary for us to review the specifications of the them.

It may be that the laptop is expecting to find external speakers.  Since I am new to laptops, I will check further when I know the model.
