HP x2 PRO 612 G1
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

I purchased a used HP x2 PRO 612 G1 (Tablet Computer)on ebay and the BIOS is locked. I would like to update the BIOS to the latest HP Update but unfortunetly I cant update it since I dont know the password.

If anyone can help me that would be wonderful.

When you enter incorrect passwords there is no code, just a message telling you that you failed and you must press the power button to restart.

Thanks

There are no master password generators for ProBooks or EliteBooks and most business class laptops.

The Mydigitallife link will not work for your model."It is not on the list."

Hi,

Enter the password incorrectly 3 times and it will generate a system halt code. You can generate a reset code by entering that code in the below link

Hi,

Or you can try the below

Welcome to HP Support Forum and we are glad to assist you.

This is to inform you that all HP Business Notebooks such as Probooks or Elitebooks have more stringent security than consumer models infact they don't produce 'halt codes', the password cannot be derived from the Serial Number and the code is stored in non-volatile memory so removing the RTC cell will not reset the password in this case.

Please have a look at this link.

Please Contact HP Business Notebook support they should be able to send you a customized SMC.bin file which you can use at boot to reset the password.

Hope this helps, for any further queries reply to the post and feel free to join us again

Thanks for the help Guys, HP Support did the trick. They made me a SMC.BIN File (you need one for your specific computer) and I booted up with that, which allowed me to perform the BIOS Update that I needed. Thanks for the quick responses! 😄
