Laptop display problems

Hi, I have an hp pavilion dv6 notebook. I tried to turn it on today but it is giving me problems. My screen is white in colour and has some random coloured vertical lines.tried connecting the notebook to my tv... Still doesn't work. This has hapened second time this month. And I have not even downloaded any games. Please help

Hi,

 

 

Lets start with you helping us by identifying your notebook completely. 

HP has produced and brought to market perhaps more than 10,000 models of notebooks and desktop PCs over the years. It is difficult to help you if we don't know which one you own and which operating system is installed.

Method #1: If the notebook will boot into Windows you can retrieve your Product Number by pressing Fn + Esc key. You can also read the Service Tag (if present) attached to the bottom of your notebook\netbook.

Method #2:
Remove the battery and look in the compartment where the battery was installed. You should see a printed part number and a product name. Please post one or both of them (with all alphanumeric characters here). If you live outside of North America, it helps us if you post the country of purchase.

Is your notebook still covered under warranty?  Check your warranty status Here.

Product no is XE032EA#ABU,model dv6-3130sa bought in UK.will this help?

Hi,

 

Thanks for the information.

 

Symptoms, such as those you describe , that occur on the display and on an external video output point to a failure of the video solution in the notebook if they happen before the Windows login screen.

 

If that is the case then It is time to look for a replacement notebook PC.

 

I do wish I had been able to give you some  information that was more positive.

Thanks for your reply. It's just that I bought this notebook in December 2010 and am surprised tht it's time to find a replacement. Smiley Sad
