It is a fantastic site to find information, tips and suggestions.
I grasp that you purchased the HP 15-ac631TU and started to install Windows 7 from a USB stick, but quit at the select language and region screen, as you had other things to do. Later when you powered on the notebook you just got a blank black screen. First I would do a hard or forced reset. HP Notebook PCs - Use Hard Reset to Resolve Hardware and Software Issues. Now try booting to your Windows 7 USB stick and complete the Windows installation.
Please let me know the outcome.
