Hello there I just bought HP15-ac631TU Free Dos. The problem is that it is showing only black screen as soon as the power is on. The fan is run shortly like 3-4 second and stop running but the power lid is still on with only black screen. I tried to installed windows 7 by usb booting before the problem happened, but i just quit installing at the very first step of choosing language and region because busy a little bit. Then later when I switched on the power to install windows, only the black screen is appearing. Help me solve this problem. Thanks a lot

Hi @SaiKhagGa,

Welcome to the HP forum!

It is a fantastic site to find information, tips and suggestions.

I grasp that you purchased the HP 15-ac631TU and started to install Windows 7 from a USB stick, but quit at the select language and region screen, as you had other things to do. Later when you powered on the notebook you just got a blank black screen. First I would do a hard or forced reset.  HP Notebook PCs - Use Hard Reset to Resolve Hardware and Software Issues.  Now try booting to your Windows 7 USB stick and complete the Windows installation.

Please let me know the outcome.

Hi Sparkles1

Thanks for your help.

I tried "Hard Reset" and then my laptop worked normally.

Thanks again.
