I have finally given up on waiting for "Hp to post new 7690mXt driver" I have done what you told me.
I have downloaded the 12.3 Catalyst pre-review.
Yes, it did register my 7690 as 7600m series.
Yes, it did nurf the clock speed from 900 to 800. (even better GPU will probably overheat less nov 
)
BUT EVERYTHING RUNS INSAINLY FASTER NOW ! We are talking in 15%fps increase and no screen tearing.
100mhz wont miss yaa

ps -tried to ask for new driver date release on ATI forum. They were lets just say "less then co-operative and polite with me"
