Yeh... Just go to Playback Devices and right click "Speakers and Headphones" and set it as Default Device...
Also about Leshcat drivers I'm using the 12.X April package, perfomance is 1000% better than HP drivers but there are still issues...

Yes, I did set the speakers to default ...(they were still set as default even when headphones got "rejected" all of a sudden)
But my initial point is : I have a new problem that is surely with some stupid old driver (this time it is a sound driver problem) ![]()
Nice work HP I don't care if you ban me from this forum ...
I will say it:
"HP you don't respect your customers and hide in behind your ignorance . "Don't spread negativity and personal opinion of forum???" HP THAT IS THE POINT OF CUSTOMER FORUMS!!! OPINIONS AND COMPLAINS !!! {Content Removed}
HOW HARD IS IT TO MAKE A {Content Removed: Language Filter Evasion} VIDEO DRIVER HP ??? IS IT EASIER TO DEAL WITH US PHONING YOU AND BOTHERING YOU FOR PAST 6 MONTHS OR JUST TO MAKE THE DRIVERS ??? SOME OF US WOULD SETTLE WITH STEADY STREAM OF UP TO DATE DRIVERS EACH MONTH NOT A NEW PC !!!

I tried Unified Leshcat Driver 12.3 for Switchable graphics, and the performance is indeed enhanced significantly.
It's a SHAME on HP that customers have to find a "unofficial" driver to support HP's product.
Even though performance-wise Leshcat's driver is much better than HP's crap, the framerate-drop problem still exist. I have to use Afterburner to fix the clock rate to 725 MHz and memory rate to 900 MHz to maintain the performance during games (with the price of high temperature of 87 degrees C in Boulder, Colorado, with a cooling pad underneath.)
SHAME on you, HP, that's all I can say about your support of your product.
Don't delete this post, because I am a HP dv7t user and I am just sharing my evaluation of HP's **bleep**ty product.
Thanks.

I am playing Bf3 in DirectX11 & it works fine, for that matter, all my problems are (almost) solved, except the biggest one:- HEAT. My system spec :- i7 2670QMQuad Core, 2 GB 7690m XT, 8 GB RAM -667 Mhz, 1080p screen
Just for records, i am using a Targus Laptop chill Mat cooling pad (AWE55AP) with CPU fan always on from BIOS setting, using the 12.3 mobility drivers provided on ati website as somehow 12.2 preview drivers do not work for me & i get BSODs & game crashes........
Now my problem is as soon as i load up windows & start playing any game (Bf3 on 720p/Medium settings, Assassin's creed, Crysis 2- Medium settings, basically any game) with the CPU & GPU at lowest temp possible..CPU at 40 deg C & GPU at around 45 deg C...Games all play very well no FPS drops, no sound probs, no BSODs, No Freezes, nothing..........The Only problem is within 10-15 minutes the Temp starts rising...& CPU reaches to well above 85 deg C & even occasionally till mid nineties (like 95 deg C), though GPU handles the games pretty easily & bnever goes above 75-78 deg C.
So basically i am not able to understand that why the HELL this monster i7 CPU ( ) not able to handle the processing required for GAmes, though GPU (our faulty/ generic driver supported GPU) is able to handle them without any issues ?
I understand that i7 Quad core CPUs get hot a lot generally, but this much ????
How am i supposed to use it then ???
My line of thought was, is it possible that due to the generic GPU drivers that we are using, the GPU is not performing upto the desired capacity & GPU's job has to be done by the CPU causing excessive heat in CPU ??
Under performance of GPU could be due to inadvertent underclocking of GPU by drivers or by disabling PowerPlay (i read somewhere in this thread that by disabling PowerPlay minimum power profile is used, etc)
My 3dMArk11 score is 1544 in Performance category (720p) & 483 in extreme (1080p) and no issues were encountered during using 3dMark11.
Kindly help with your suggestions/inputs, as i am based out of india & my cousin bought this laptop :- HP Pavilion dv6t-6c00 CTO Quad Edition for me from USA, i can't even go for refund/exchange (well out of my 21 day period/outside USA) & have to somehow make do with this PC.
Thanks in advance ![]()

@dv6-6c00_User
These laptops are going to run hot, it's just the nature of the beast given all the muscular components crammed under the hood of the thing.
What you need is a laptop cooling pad, and you need one, like, right flippin' now. It's not even open for discussion. Below is a link to what I use: it's cheap, easy to use, has a neat-o blue light, and keeps my dv7's temps under control:
