It's not even the bios fact though, that's just the cusp of it. The fact there's people who bought this laptop in the hopes of a half viable gaming machine, have had their dreams shot down by crappy driver support, and extremely bad support overall

Considering their Envy is so expensive, you'd expect everything to work flawlessly. This laptop was more expensive than a Macbook Pro. I got this thinking it'd be worth the extra money because I'd get much better features and better support because it's a PC.WRONG!

I could not agree with you more cameron! The price seemed too good to be true, but obviously, it actually was. I'm in a conversation with the online crash analysis team right now, sending off a cabinet file of my diagnostic test results. Not confident however, as earlier they linked me to a 5470 driver :\

**bleep**, not installing any display drivers... Well, let's stay with 12.2 and wait another month. *sighs*

Used to have crashes/freezes every 5-30min but used the warranty to change it for a new one (the same DV6-6c80la), and now im having no issues at all... But the perfomance should be better compared to other laptops videocards (it's even a little worse compared to the first one I got but without crashes), that's why im trying other drivers...
ALSO, I have noticed another issue, something physical, both of the notebooks (old and new) got the speakers a little out of it slot, if you compare to other DV6's (wich physically are almost the same) the speakers are perfect aligned...
P.S: Not a perfect english but you can understand ![]()

Oh really? HOW did you get a replacement laptop!? I've been trying to get HP to replace mine, but they won't even budge. What exactly did you do to get them to replace your laptop???

You have to contact them through the chat support, explain your problem, they will issue you a case number...
They may tell you one of this things to do:
1.- (Not sure if applies for all the stores, but applies for mine. This is what happened to me) If the issue was within the 15 days after the purchase and you take it to the store within those days, after confirming your case number (I waited 3 **bleep** hours, thanks god there was a PC to play some cools games during the wait) they will change it for a new one.
2.- You'll have to send it to HP and they will check it out, fix it and send it back... No idea if they give you a new one if it's impossible to repair it... Anyway check the warranty.

Well... Keep trying over support, just be polite and over-explain everything...
Also, I just reversed to my old status... HP drivers and 12.2 over it, and noticed that at the "Update Software" section of the ATI CCC, it says I can update to 12.3... I'll give it a try.
P.S: As you can read in earlier posts, with the 12.2 the videocard is detected as a 6700M series.
EDIT: Well... It just updated ATI CCC...
