BRAND NEW hp pavilion g6-1232sa black screen on start up!

Hi there,

Slightly disappointed with my new HP pavilion g6-1232sa laptop. I bought it only a few hours ago. Followed the Start here instructions assembled everything as told. Power lead plugged in lift the lid and turn the power on and all i get is the power light on top and side are on and the caps lock light flashing but a black screen, no display at all. Turned the power off and on a few times and still nothing. Should i leave it on charge as it may be low (even though the power adaptor is plugged in and the instructions do not say i have to charge it first)?
Should i take it back? Please help?

Missing something as in the laptop not being built correctly? All parts that are stated in the start here manual are there.

Hi,

Try a reset. Unplug the laptop, remove the battery and hold down the power on/off button for 60 seconds. Now replace the battery and plug the laptop back in and give it a go.

If you still get blinking lights then look over this article.  This article is also related to my above suggestion.

Turn off the PC and let the battery charge for say 30 minutes.
