Banding problem on my HP Pavilion dv6-6141eo [ Edited ]

Hello!

I just bought a new computer and have banding problems. All images with "gradient" (eg from black to white) will be "spotted", like a million dots insted of a fade. How can I fix this?

The computer has these features:

HP Pavilion dv6-6141eo

Windows ® 7 64-bit

Intel ® Core ™ i7 processor 2630QM

39.6 cm (15.6 inches) High-Definition HP LED BrightView Display

8 GB Memory (RAM)

It sounds like a hardware problem, connect up an external monitor and see if it happens over there. If it does, then there is a problem with the mother board, if it's OK, then the laptop screen is defective.

 At any rate the screen is probably defective or the mother board is at fault (video card) return it for a refund or exchange.

 It's a bran new computer and you should not have to piss around with it.

I can't just update it? So I have to return it? 

And reinstall all programs and their serials?
