Broken Screen - need to replace it

HP Pavilion dv6 3171ef (bought in France)

Hello, I'm living in Dublin, Ireland, the screen of my laptop is broken. So I'm only able to see half of the screen.

I'm looking for a cheap way to replace it. Does anybody know how to do it, or where to do it?

Thanks

Mario

Here are your specs.

 http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c02794209&tmp_task=prodinfoCategory&cc=us&dlc=en...

According to them you're running an LED screen with a resolution of 1366 x 768.

This is just one source that ships world wide.

Here is one from e-bay that will work, however it does not say what side the connector is on, even though it is an LED screen with the correct resolution, contact the seller and inquire about this, if you go this route.

 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/15-6-LCD-Screen-HP-PAVILION-DV6-DV6-3000-dv6-1350EM-DV6-3122US-Laptop-LED-...

Here is a link to the HP Media Services Library to get it apart, make sure you're signed in before clicking on the link. Post again if you need help finding your model.

I had a look at the video for your model and according to it, your connection is on the left side, that's looking at the back of the screen with the circuit board at the bottom.

The only sure way is to take it apart first and see.

If it is a touch screen model then none of these screens will work and you will have to contact HP directly for the screen and more then likely you will have to send it in.

 Here is HP's contact information.

This also may create a new problem as you mentioned that it was originally purchased in France. If it comes to this contact HP in your country and they still may be able to help.
