DV9500t screen goes green when tilted back

The screen on my dv9500t laptop goes to a green tint and goes out of focus (text gets squiggly) when the display is tilted back.  Its kind of hard to explain.  The best way to show it is to give this youtube link.  The problem in this video is exactly what my screen keeps doing.

I am running Vista Home Premium, although I'm pretty sure its not a software problem.  Any ideas on how to fix this?  Is it a simple fix, like a display cable coming detached?

Thank you for any help you can give!

Re: DV9500t screen goes green when tilted back

I would recommend un-installing and re-installing the drivers. If that does not solve the issue, I would switch the signal cable from the monitor to the PC. If you are still experiencing issues, please try to change out the graphics card or make sure the drivers are updated. Once trying that and you still have the issue, then the only thing I can think of is that the monitor may have a defect.

Re: DV9500t screen goes green when tilted back

It looks like a hardware issue, the display ribbon cabl0e to be exact,it is caused whe the harness is to tightly assembled and after some open an closing the screen lid the cables got internally broken. It is recommended to be replaced before a shortcut happens and you damaged get worse.

Fredo is right on, this is definatlyl a problem with a frayed or lose display cable. If you are in warranty, call right away before it costs you $400.
