I have the pavilion dv7-6135dx.
When I look up my model number on HP's site it says: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 6490m
When I go into my display settings it says: Mobile Intel HD graphics 3000
Total Available graphics memory 5093 MB
Dedicated Video Memory 1280 MB
System Video Memory 0 MB
Shared System Memory 3813 Mb
What does all this mean?
Do I have a seperate video card or is it seperate video card mounted to the mother board?
Best Buy said I could upgrade the video memory from 6 MB to 8 or 12MB I think. How can I find out for sure.
HP doesnt say anything on the site about max video memory.
Thanks ![]()

Hi,
That simply means your machine has TWO video "cards" one is Intel called onboard video card and another one called dedicated video card.
Please read more from this:

That thread really didnt help. It was kind of all over the place and didnt relate in my mind, but maybe I just dont understand how it applies. I wish HP put more info about their pc's on the website. I mean, Really? They dont even tell me what the video ram is upgradeable to. ![]()
