Hi all, been struggling with this for a few months now and really need some help. I bought a new Dv6t quad edition with an upgrade to the Radeon 6770m video card.
The problem is this:
There is, as far as I know, no way to scale the resolution to fit the screen. Even something as simple as changing the desktop display to 800x600 doesn't scale. It just shrinks the screen area to 800x600 pixels and puts a nice, fat, black border around the unused screen. There is an option to scale with the integrated Intel power-saving GPU, but the option does nothing and scales nothing. There is no option to scale in the dumbed down version of Catalyst Control Center, and no video card options at all in the BIOS.
Am I missing something? Is there an option that I've overlooked? Are there any third party downloads that can scale? This is really annoying. Many games and applications I play/use are at a fixed resolution (often times 800x600 or 640x480,) All I want is for it to scale to fit the edge of the screen. I'm ok with the fact that there will be boarders on the left and right side as the pixel aspect ratio is preserved. I've been actively looking for a solution for over a month. Any help is appreciated.
