Hi all,
I'm trying to connect my Elitebook 8440p (running Windows 7 professional) to an Acer external monitor. Ideally, I'd like to set it up as an extended desktop (not a replacement).
I've connected the monitor, but it's not getting a signal from the computer. Fn+F4 does nothing (although the other Fn keys work). In the control panel, the computer is not recognizing the monitor.
I had to download and install the wireless, audio, etc drivers before any of that worked, so I'm assumming I'm missing a driver - but I can't figure out which driver is the one I need. I've installed about 60% of them so far and still haven't hit it and am accidently starting to download doubles.
Any ideas?
Thanks.
LS

First one that comes to mind would be the video card driver and maybe the chipset driver. I would go into device manager and see which items still have to be installed and install them. You should be able to download all the drivers you need for your machine and operating system from the HP Support & driver tab here. Byte the bullet and do all of them.
