HDMI conection on HP mini 311 1000NR

I'm having problem with my HDMI connection. No image appears on HDTV TV. I tried updating the Nvidia driver but the update gives error at the beginning of implementation. In Nvidia control panel does not appear the option of selecting HDMI connection too.

Anyone have any idea of what can be?

I have exactly the same problem with Mini 311 LCD via HDMI. No screen on LCD and new installation of NVIDIA driver via HP signals 'corrupt' file.

I tried HDMI to my HD visio and got great picture, but no sound!

what gives?

there was sound output from the speakers and headphone jack, but not thru HDMI

F2 = great pic but I can't get any sound either.

Finally figured it out (for Win XP). I had to update the driver for the IDT high definition audio CODEC under Sound, video and game controllers in the device manager. The driver is on the HP site: IDT 5.10.6230.0 dated 8-13-09. After doing this go to control panel under sounds and devices choose audio tab and under sound playback choose IDT audio as default device.

Shouldn't be this hard..........Jay
