Pick the correct link to get to your nearest support depot.

 http://www8.hp.com/us/en/hp-information/summary/ww-contact-us.html

You may have to mail it in depending where you are anyway.

It probably would be better to find a local computer repair shop or do the work your self, since it is out of warrantee (I am guessing). I can help you with the installation with the new screen if you decide to go that route. HP has videos that are very useful for this.

Here is a new complete screen assembly out of the UK, he doesn't ship outside the UK, but I find if you ask the seller, they very often will make exceptions.

This ebay seller does ship to the euro zone and you are better off buying your own screen and finding a local (chinese if possible) computer repairer to install it.

Re: HDX 18 display replacement

@ Velenoso

The reason why I suggested the complete screen assembly is that it's very difficult to replace just the screen on the HDX models, even for a technician.

There are two screws at the bottom of the bezel that are inaccessible while the screen is in place, so the assembly itself has to be removed from the laptop to gain access to the screen, but that is not the difficult part.

Ounce the assembly is removed and the screen is exposed, it's held in there with this 3M industrial tape directly on the bezel. It was never meant to come apart, I have had good results with a very hot hair drier to soften the adhesive, while others have used a piece of dental floss to break the seal.

The photos in the ebay link are incorrect for the HDX series.

Thanks for giving the other option as mgp29 may find some one competent enough to replace just the screen.

I know HP will not do it, they will replace the whole assembly as it's more cost effective in the end.
