I have posted before with a similar issue for this same laptop, and to summarazie it up:

used laptop given to me by a friend as he didn't know how to fix it, screen wouldn't turn on at all (rare occasions it would) and wouldn't boot from HDD.
Discovered HDD connector was broke, got a sata to pata hdd adapter for the dvd drive and fixed that issue.
I had believed to have fixed the screen turning on and off by flashing the bios from f.18 back to f.17 as he said the screen problem started after a bios update, it worked for a bit but now i cannot get the screen to come back on.

turion II processor
320gb hdd
