Re: HP G60 Notebook PC 217EM

Hi,

You may have accidentally set a High Contrast theme - to check if this is the case, try the following.

Open windows Control Panel, open Personalise and click on one of the Aero themes.

Do you now have a coloured display again?

Regards,

Re: HP G60 Notebook PC 217EM

Hi,

Try the following.

Shut down the notebook.  Tap away at f8 as you start the notebook to enter Windows Recovery Console.  Use the arrow keys to select Safe Mode and hit enter.  When this has loaded, from the Start Menu, click All Programs, click Accessories, click System Tools and launch System Restore.  Pick a restore point at least 24 hours before the issue and then proceed with the restore process.  When complete, Windows will reboot as normal.

Has  this made any difference?

Regards,

Re: HP G60 Notebook PC 217EM

Hello DP-K,

Before I carry out what you suggest in your second reply, I thought I would let you know that when I booted up the computer this morning, the full colour array was displayed on the screen for about 30 seconds. It then reverted to grey again. Should I carry ouot your second suggestion or is there anything else I should do, having given you this new information?

Re: HP G60 Notebook PC 217EM

Hi,

I'm hoping that this is a configuration rather than Hardware issue, so there is certainly no problem in trying the suggestion in my previous post.
