HP Mini 210-3000 display is extending past the bottom of the display and not showing.

I am using a HP Mini 210-3000 with Windows 7 Starter (32-bit).  And it's set to 1024 x 768 resolution (recommended) with no text size changes or anything.  But the bottom of the display whether it's bootup or inside windows is cutting off the bottom 25% or so of the screen.  I can cursor down below where I can't see off the screen because the desktop is still there but cannot see it.  It was even reImaged from the Restore partition and this persists.  If I use the windows magnifier and cursor down to the bottom I can see the taskbar and whatnot in the magnifier window but not otherwise.  Please let me know which setting has been or could have been changed for this to happen.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

the actual resolution of the LCD panel for that model is 1024x600, that is why the bottom is not displayed when set to 1024x768.

Please set the resolution to 1024x600

Re: HP Mini 210-3000 display is extending past the bottom of the display and not showing.

Bryan,

Thanks for your reply.  I switched it to that setting and it's still as if the bottom 25% of the screen is cut off visually.  Do you have any other recommendations.  It's strange that this problem kept through a factory default restore from the recovery partition.  Is there any hot-keys that would toggle such a thing?

Thanks in advance.

The next thing I would try is updating your video driver, do you have your product number?

It will be xxxxxxx with the last to digits usually being UA, or AV.

You can also try updating the driver through Windows by going to Device Manager (Start, type "Device Manager", click on the link)

Then Expand the section next to "Display Adapters", Right Click, and choose "update Driver Software"

Re: HP Mini 210-3000 display is extending past the bottom of the display and not showing.

Bryan,

I have updated the driver with the correct latest one from HP's site.  Still no fix. This is strange because you can ever see that the screen is stretched out of preportion and off the screen when Windows 7's splash screen is up.  It's not centered at all.  Even through the recovery process everything wasn't being shown.  I had to 'guess' where the click for next would be.

I work in IT and have troubleshot the Hell out of this and just can't see why a default factory restore wouldn't fix this when it went through the process.

A real head scratcher.

Thanks.

Re: HP Mini 210-3000 display is extending past the bottom of the display and not showing.

Hi,

Did anybody find a resolution to this issue?  I am having the same problem on my Mini 210 1055NR.  I tried all the software tricks (drivers, bios updates, etc) and still nothing.  Hooked it up to an external monitor displays on the external screen just fine. This tells me this is a hardware issue with either the LCD or Motherboard.  But what part?

The display extends off the screen in the BIOS, HP Web Interface, and in Windows. So I think that rules out drivers and software in Windows.

I would love to know if anyone has solved this. I have a persistent problem with a little property mgt program that i installed, I cannot resize it, I cannot scroll to bottom of screen to save, so I continually lose work!! I can view perfectly on full size screen. I have tried everything suggested.

Re: HP Mini 210-3000 display is extending past the bottom of the display and not showing.

Hi Folks - I just started having the exact same problem - I have a HP Mini 210-3070ca. It is not a windows 7 issue as it occurs when I go into HP Advanced System Diagnostics as well as HP Quickweb. I did a bios rollback followed by bios update - no change. Has anyone got a solution?
