HP Mini 5101 LED Screen not working

Hi, I have the HP Mini 5101. The screen was working, after I closed the lid (sleep mode)...the screen stays black. When restarting the Laptop..nothing appears on the screen. I hear Windows running and the leds are blinking...but no screen. I have removed the battery etc. Nothing...anyone?

Re: HP Mini 5101 LED Screen not working

Perform a hard reset on the Notebook. To perform a hard reset, follow the steps below.

  • Unplug the AC adapter from the notebook PC.
  • Remove the battery from the notebook battery compartment.
  • Disconnect any external devices or peripherals connected to the notebook. Press and hold down the power button for about 15 seconds

Re: HP Mini 5101 LED Screen not working

Did you try using an external monitor?

If the display on the external monitor is okay, then the cable that goes from the main board to the screen through the hinge could have broken from too many twists. (One twist each time you open the lid, one un-twist each time you close it.)

I did, it workes fine using an external monitor.

Any idea where I can order a new cable and maybe a partnumber?
