HP, NEW Driver NEEDED for ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650

Has anyone had any further success from the advice in this topic?

I'd really like to fix my dv6 as I know the potential of the machine. HP Support, Microsoft Diagnostic Support and HP's Online Crash Analyss Team have offered me no support at all. AMD distance themselves utterly from any association with HP's woeful products. (Who can blame them?!?)

Anyone have any ideas?

For the last time, just uninstall Catalyst. Working like a dream for me with Skyrim on High Settings.

Here's the link to the 12.1 Catalyst Drivers. Basically HP doesn't support mobility graphics cards with updates so you have to find them yourself. DO NOT uninstall the OEM drivers. Just download this one and install it over your current drivers. Enjoy! Also this is for 64 bit windows 7 only.

All I did was update the drivers specific to my dv7-61-- on this webpage.  I am able to play skyrim, to video editing and photo editing with any major problems now.

Its a ccc driver which i got from the hp site for switchable graphics from an hp envy drivers page but i installed it in my hp pavilion dv6-3143se and worked like a charm got the latest version of ccc and display driver tht is 8.950.0.0 for the ati 5650 i'd recommend installing it on the latest hp drrivers from your laptops page

                          HD 5650 has new Catalyst Control Center 12.3 with 8.95 drivers!
