An FYI, regarding spontaneous display screen re-orientation on my brand new HP Pavilion dm1z (AMD E-350) running Win7 Home. After experiencing spontaneous re-orientation of the computer screen, that is, the screen suddenly re-orients itself from portrait to landscape or portrait(flipped) or landscape(flipped) and continuously as long as I was typing on the keyboard or clicking with the touchpad buttons, I and a competent HP Support tech saw (through a vpn connection) that a 3rd party encryption program appeared to be causing the problem. We tested the operation of the dm1z with and without the program running and determined the program to be the problem.
This was after having returned the laptop for exchange twice and contacting HP support three times until I telephoned and got technician Christopher to assist. He was great and together we were able to diagnose the difficulty. You cannot imagine the effort that went into investigating this trouble. I was on the verge of denouncing HP all together!
I notified QFX Software, the authors of Keyscrambler Encryption, and they informed me they were familiar with the problem, relating it to East Asian language support in the program and that they are working on a remedy, until then uncheck support for East Asian Languages in the options and restart.
Now the dm1z works like a charm.
Just so all will know!!
