HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook starting with Blank White Screen--Help??

I've had an HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook for a couple years now. Today I go to start it up (without the power cord plugged in), and a completely white screen appears. I'm thinking, maybe it's still starting up/working some kinks out. Then I hear the Windows 7 twinkling start up sound that usually happens when you get to your log in screen. So it seems the computer itself is working, but there is zero display on the screen. If anyone has any good advice/experience with this/knows how I can fix it or what I should do, PLEASE let me know! Computer problems are so distressing

Connect an external display to see if the Windows normal desktop is visible.

 If a normal desptop is visible on the external display then it could be one of a few things.:

1) failed LCD display.

2) loose ribbon connector at the system board

I have same problem.  Seems to me it is the system board in area where display connects.  If i push on bottom of laptop in a specific spot it will work.  I completely broke down lap top.  All connections are fine yet still same problem.  Best I can tell from searching internet it is a design flaw.  When computer is cool display will work but after a minute or 2 heat builds up and then problem occurs.  External display works fine.  My guess is a expansion/\contraction problem with some solder?  Heatsink not effective enough.  Of course my warranty just ran out.

this morning i turned on my hp pavillion dv-7 4077 entertainment netbook 

when i turned it on, it turned white i restarted it many times still it will come white blank screen i tried to connected to my tv but it doesnt work on it to.
please could u tell me what do i do now

I'm having exactly the same problem.  Did you ever figure out what was wrong?
