HP STATES THAT THEY ARE UNAWARE OF ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE dv9700. UNAWARE? WHAT ABOUT ALL THESE POSTS HOSTED ON THEIR OWN {Content Removed: Language Filter Evasion} WEBSITE?

ESP toward the end:
“As part of HP, PSG will continue to give customers and partners the advantages of product innovation and global scale across the industry’s broadest portfolio of PCs, workstations and more,” said Todd Bradley, executive vice president, Personal Systems Group, HP. “We intend to make the leading PC business in the world even better.”

Same here. I know you are there.....this is not acceptable. Your are losing many customers...many of us make hardware purchase decisions for our companies....I don't get it. HP was once a good company, I hope your new CEO understands this...

Me too, same boat! I am experiencing a graphics card problem as well and my dv9700 has the Nvidia 8600 model. My comp runs fine, but has a black screen. Not helpful... At first it was a mess of colored static and lines and eventually the screen went black and only rarely comes back when I boot it cold after it has been sitting for a while. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who's comp lasted almost 4 years before dying. Crazy thing is that it probably lasted that long because I used a chill mat to keep it cool. Otherwise it probably would've died while under the extended warranty! So now HP says there is nothing they can do, not repairable. This has been going on for YEARS now and with how many people having the same issue??? I can't believe they still haven't done anything to help their customers. Yet another example of how customer service is one of the biggest oxymorons in today's society! I will be replacing this laptop with a different brand, assuming I'm not miraculously contacted by someone from HP after reading this post, because I'm sure our collective voices are being heard, right?? They liked my money when I spent $2000 a few years ago. Do they not want my money in the future??
Anyone out there having any success repairing on their own? Would be interested to hear about that...

Hello everybody,
I´m also a victim on this nvidia failure. I purshade 2 dv9700 in may 2008 and june 2008. One has completly gone down because of the black screen, the other is about to, shows vertical lines and blue dots. Between both coputer i spent $3,700. I´ve been trying to get a hold of a case manager. Hopefully today they will give me a call. The important thing is that we all share our experience, specially if somebody is lucky to get HP with a solution. {Personal Information Removed}
Thanks

I just called HP last night with the same problem. This is so annoying and the main thing the rep was interested in is me shipping my dv9700 to them for repair - obviously for an undisclosed sum of money. And they PRETEND they've never heard of this problem. This is not right.

lol... Guys I know it feels good to vent and to learn more from each other how HP ripping them off has effected their lives, but ask yourself this.... Do you think they are that concerned with a few people ranting and raving in a forum? Hell... You are on HP OWN WEBSITE! LMAO.... If you want to make a dent.... Well... A small fracture in HP sales, you have to spread this all over the internet through all channels.... You need to not only express your own personal views, but also at least show some kind of proof of what HP has done. It is not right for HP to just push the little guy to the side like they have been doing. They are a GIANT of a company. one, two, hell even a thousand people complaining will not matter to them, but EVERYONE let them know that each and every one of you is going to tell at least one person and that one person will tell another.. so on and so forth... Imagine the fire you will have lit under their butt... lmao.... So come on people.. Work together.....

Good point! Posting the problem to other websites, facebook pages, Twitter, making YouTube videos. Whenever I have a chance to work this fiasco into some other conversation or forum, I'll do it.

everytime I mention anything about how to get that started on this forum, some woman blocks my answer.
