ShunshineF, I really feel ofended with your post... and same as I do many people does.

We have already contact with HP. We are not silly not to know how to contact them. No need to paste and explain how to. We already did, and I wont paste their answer cause it´s embarrasing... I feel ashame about that behaviour....

Re: HP Pavilion dv9700 should also be on the list - but it is not even with a NVIDIA 8600 GPU

Hello everyone,

I recently tweeted the issues that we are all having / have had with our HP laptops... Some potential good news... I received a response that someone at HP is atleast looking into this for us. I've been told to send an email with reference to this so fingers crossed we can finally get HP to accept the issue.... Surely, its in their own good to not have *so* many let down customers who have pretty obviously let down by them... Anyways, I will update everyone once I hear something...

Re: HP Pavilion dv9700 should also be on the list - but it is not even with a NVIDIA 8600 GPU

Also, I'd suggest that those of you who are on twitter request help / attention from HP by tweeting to https://twitter.com/#!/hpsupport and to @HP_Listens

And adding the #HP hashtag... we want others to find out about this issue.

I'd like to think that HP doesn't want to loose many of us as their loyal customers who will turn on them and work on ruining their reputation... Social media is ideal for fighting this case and getting attention to this issue.

SunshineF,

Seeing that many of us have been ignored - not only on this forum and likes to you - but by the same support team that you are linking to, we are now having to resort to taking on HP on social media... Perhaps you can explain to your superiors on why you saw 100s of distressed customers on the forum complaining about the same thing and the only thing you did to help was link to a support page which most of us have tried to reach.

Had you actually read the forum, you would already know. Next time, try to engage with your customers instead of copying-and-pasting standard replies.

Just for HP-PR  information ...

We just bought another two laptops from Asus and Lenovo for the last 5 months!

Even our teen daughters said:  "No more HP, Dad!"

Re: HP Pavilion dv9700 should also be on the list - but it is not even with a NVIDIA 8600 GPU

Just adding my Pavilion dv9700 to the sad list of "toe-tagged" laptops.  When I bought this system for my daughter a few years ago, I believed that "HP = Quality".  As others have said, mistakes can happen but admit them, fix them, and move on.  From now on I will choose other vendors for my technology needs.  I think it's interesting that my ancient IBM ThinkPad T30, which has seen very heavy use, is still running reliably with Ubuntu Linux.  I hope I can find solid systems like that in the future.

Re: HP Pavilion dv9700 should also be on the list - but it is not even with a NVIDIA 8600 GPU

We use Lenovo laptops now at work and they perform very well just likeyou T30. Lenovo is the Chinese company that made the IBM laptops and PCs and we are very happy with them. No more HPs let's see how their stock will perform. I now have formed a Twitter accounts if anyone want to follow it at least it won get sensored by HP so please follow jcesarmora . Note that I am new at that silly Twitter thing and not sure how to do things on it but hopefully HP will listen eventually.
