Hello InfoGov, it's important for us to properly identify the Notebook you have, you see they can sound like they are the same but actually be different hardware and Software.
So would you please give us the Product number for your notebook?
I'll put a link below on where you can find this information, please don't put your serial number as that is private information you should only provide in a one-on one support situation.
Could you also please tell us your BIOS version?
You can see your BIOS version in Windows by holding down the "fn" key and pressing the "esc" key
If your notebook is powered off you can get it from the BIOS by pressing the power button then tapping the "f10" key on the top row until you get into the BIOS.
Thank you.

HP Pavilion g6t-1a00 CTO Notebook PC
Product Number: LM836AV
BIOS: F.17
I use GPU-Z for view temperature. I turn on the notebook, enter to firefox, play a video and 1 or 2 minutes before the temperature is 116º and the bios shuts down the notebook (The notebook is cold, the problem is the sensor).

Thx for replying with the information I asked for, you do indeed have a different model from the g6-1158sa that started this thread.
You also have a new CTO notbook, which means it was just built, and because of that you have a newer BIOS version that the one available on the web (it’s not rare for this to happen) but it does mean you already have the latest BIOS.
If you did not have the issue when you first bought it I would suggest first a System Restore (does not wipe out your data & games) to a point before you had the issue.
If that did not I would suggest running an HP Recovery Manager to get it back to Factory condition (this does wipe out your data and games)
If neither of those worked I would call support to have it repaired, or whatever action that works for you.
Sorry not to have a magic fix, and if anyone else out would like to chime in with a better recommendation please go ahead.
Good luck

Thanks Bookworm!
In my first reply I use "HP Pavilion g6t-1a00 CTO Notebook PC" as post title because is a diferent model from the first post.
I bought the notebook and without installing any sofware the notebook shuts down.
I use the recovery to factory, install latest drivers and bios (the original bios was F.04) and try again, but the problem continues.
I will call store for change it for a new one.

Hi again
I did restore my computer to the factory condition and reinstalled everything again but the only device i have issue with , is the graphic card that means something wrong with it . So i contacted an HP enginner by phone i explained for him the exact situation he said thats a faulty motherboard , dont forget i had a cracking sound under the keyboard looks like an electricity problem , anyway i sent it back and looking forward for the new one .
Thanks for all the help and i hope no more problems its really annoying and wasting time ![]()

I have a HP G6 NOTEBOOK that shuts down and powers off without warning
I went to the supprot site and followed instruction to down load the new BIOS
with HP support assistant Icon
How do I know if I have the correct BIOS?
My current BIOS config : F.04-03/14/2011(0594100000204610000620100)
I also checked : Deselect the Automatically restart checkbox under System failure .
and it was already deselected which is a concern if the PC is still shutting down
Please advise
thanks
