can somebody tell me the reason i cant update the drivers for catalyst control center directly from the AMD website? because HP hasnt put the latest drivers up on their website yet! i still have the 2011 version and the 2012 version is OUT!

Read the second post in this thread, page 1.
Unfortunately, if you have switchable graphics in your laptop you cannot use drivers from ATi website, you can only use drivers from HP.
HP packages these drivers together in one single package (Intel+ATi) and this is the only way to install and update them.

yes, HP should update his driver as soon as ATI does, I think that software support in HP is much worst than Lenovo or Dell, they do good hardware but not good quality software, I rather never buy again HP.

HP is first and foremost a hardware company, and hardware engineers don't care much about software. That's why they have a long history of poorly written or just plain bad drivers, a number of useless software and the most annoying preinstalled bloatware. A big corporation that is divided between product designers, software engineers and hardware engineers with the clueless management on top. They don't really have a sense of the individual buyer and care more about quantity than quality. If only Steve Jobs was alive, he could overtake HP and give us some integrated quality products that we can actually use completely, with little less frustration and little more work done.

As for the graphics drivers, I think we can expect the updated version in less than a month.

dude will it says its for the 7470m card... will these drivers be ok with the 6490m? and these include the catalyst center and everything?
