HP ProBook 6555b - HD+ display does not work

Hi,

I have a 6555b and I cannot use HD+ resolution (1600 x 900). The max is 1366 x 768. Could you please help me?

Regards

Tom

Re: HP ProBook 6555b - HD+ display does not work

Thank you. Could you please explain why in Quick Specs for this notebook one can find info that this notebook supports higher resolution:

HP ProBook 6555b:

15.6-inch diagonal LED-backlit HD anti-glare (1366 x 768 resolution)

15.6-inch diagonal LED-backlit HD+ WVA anti-glare (1600 x 900

resolution)

Does it depend on specific model or sth like that?

Regards

Tomasz

Re: HP ProBook 6555b - HD+ display does not work

It will support 1600x900 if it has LED WVA AG display panel installed, generally this computer ships without WVA display panel.

Please find the part number of the display assembly installed on your computer so that i can tell you exactly which display panel is installed.

In this case I am pretty sure I got the normal one... Out of curiosity - where can I find this part number?

Thanks. But there's just 60Hz and nthg more. It seems I just need to accept this resolution, nevertheless I would appreciate higher one.

OK, I think there's no use to bother you any more. Thank you for your assisstance. Kudos for you :smileyhappy:

Re: HP ProBook 6555b - HD+ display does not work

okay..

can you please perform the following steps and let me know the results:

  1. Right click on empty space on the desktop and click on Screen Resolution.
  2. Click on the Advanced settings link.
  3. Click Monitor tab, and uncheck “Hide modes that this monitor does not support”
  4. Click on the Adapter tab, and on the List All Modes button.
  5. Select the display mode with the screen resolution, color depth, and screen refresh rate that you want to use, and click on OK.
  6. Click on OK.
  7. Click on Yes to confirm the change.
  8. When finished, click on OK.

The above steps might help you to get the resolution you want, even it is not supported by the monitor.

You might need to update the display/graphics driver

Re: HP ProBook 6555b - HD+ display does not work

The “Hide modes that this monitor does not support” box is disabled, but it is unchecked. There is max 1366 resolution to choose in the List All Modes menu.

[ Edited ]

In this case it is not possible to increase the resolution... you can update the Graphics drive as your last try... and again perform the above steps to see if it helps........

I hope you are not planning to replace the LCD... :smileytongue:
