HP Wireless TV Connect WY555AA#ABC

Have a lap top with no HDMI port. Is it possible to connect  the Wireless TV Connect to my Compaq Presario?

Nope, you need a HDMI port for it to work...

Re: HP Wireless TV Connect WY555AA#ABC

Well since you appear to be familiar with this item: here is my UNSOLVED problem:

I need to disconnect the HDMI cable at the laptop every time that I switch from TV  viewing back to HDMI setting on the TV remote. We have tried two brands of TVs with same results. HP tech support suggested a broken HDMI interface within the TV set, but certainly not in two different brands. Latest response from HP is that they are still researching. Tried swapping cables, moving the receiver and transmitter closer, even almost touching, still nothing. Frustrating since we do not want to run additional cable in  the room, it worked just fine when we did try it with a cable ( just to eliminate the " bad HDMI switch " theory.

Yes it is possible.  I use an adapter from Atlona that combines VGA and audio out from the pc to HDMI.

This is really late for the "UNSOLVED" question posted, but figured posting the following might offer a tip to others.. Some TV's and/or HDMI switches may have a priority HDMI port configuration. This could either be hardwired or programmable. That said, the issue might be the situation with the above mentioned post. Since the HP wireless adapter is connected and powered, the TV or HDMI switch would see the signal as active. To see if this might be the issue, try swapping HDMI ports and see if the HDMI port preference changes.
