HP dv9617 laptop screen issues

Only 3/4 of my screen is visible and the bottom portion of the screen where my icon is located is black and I cannot see anything on the bottom portion of the screen. I have only had the laptop for roughly 18 months and i woke up this morning to find the bottom portion of the screen is black but I can see the top 3/4 of the screen. Is this a issue with the screen and if so is it worth sending in for repair or is this something i can do if i order the part

Re: HP dv9617 laptop screen issues

You will have to look at a manual and deside if you feel comfortable doing it your self. If you are lucky it may be a loose cable or broken cable that may be replacable. Most likely it is a screen or a permanetly attached cable.

Re: HP dv9617 laptop screen issues

Which one is yours

»  HP Pavilion dv9617nr Notebook PC

»  HP Pavilion dv9617tx Notebook PC

Call HP, ask them if any change to get it fix for free. :smileysad: probably the answer is NO, try it you'll nover know.

If it was still NO, ask for any change to buy extended warranty, this option would be good since it would be a year warranty extention instead of 90 day for regular fix.

If you have processor with AMD, there is a posibility for better treat comparing with Intel platform, but it was just a guess based on reading in many forums.

______

Pavilion DV2922TX, XP-SP3 32bit, Intel T5750 2.0Ghz, Nvidia Geforce 8400M GS with 128MB, 4GB 667 DDR2, 250GB HDD
