HP2000 laptop - bad sound and video when on battery power

When on Battery power my DVD skips and stalls along with broken up sound on video & sound files.  Any body have any ideas or had this problem?  Thanks, Mark

Re: HP2000 laptop - bad sound and video when on battery power

Hi Mark,

Things to Check:

  • It sounds like it's just too much hardware being pushed by too little battery power.  If you are running at 100%: Maybe you can upgrade the battery to 6 or 12 cell, or at least replace it.
  • Check your power settings.  Are you running on 80% (or ?) when on battery power?  Anything less than 100% may not be enough to run the hardware you are trying to run.
  • Is there something else running in the background?  Email / Browser, something else soaking up the resource chugging away while the DVD is running?
