I cannot dim my screen [ Edited ]

Hi there

I am facing a problem here. I usually run my PC on AC power and then set it on hibernate mode when I am not using it.

But when I resume without the AC power, I am unable to adjust the brightness of my screen and I have to restart the PC.

Does anyone have a solution to this?

I am using HP Probook 4530s with windows 7 home premium

I would attempt to update your BIOS to the latest version. While this BIOS update does not directly relate to your issue, it does address some battery issues. This may indirectly fix your issue. It is imperative that you follow the directions exactly as given on the page, and do not turn off your notebook.

I forgot to mention that the Windows 7 Home Premium is 64-bit

And I have version F.09 installed

Go to the system tray in the lower right bottom of your screen and click on the "plug and battery" icon. Left click on it and you will see a link to "Adjust Brightness" towards the bottom of the menu.
