I have 'lost' my DVD player icon. How do I get it back? Vista/HP Pavilion dv9230 us Notebook .

Hi DoveBC,
Can you find the DVD player icon in the start menu? If you locate where it is in the start menu, you can Right-Click the icon and choose Send To... then select Desktop (Create Shortcut).
If the icon is not in the start menu either, you can look in the C:\Program Files folder for the application.
If unsure of the specific program name, insert a DVD - it should give you options for which program to use to play the disc.
You can also look in Control Panel, in the Programs and Features section - this will give you a list of all programs installed on your computer.
Once you have the name of the program, you can do a search from the start menu to find it as well (should be [program name].exe)
