Hi everyone, I have a hp dv2800se verve notebook with vista home premium. The screen is cracked in several places so it stopped working, but luckily I have one external monitor to connect via VGA, but the problem is now I'm stuck using one monitor and I miss the days of using dual monitors (laptop LCD + external).
Recently I managed to find a good deal on a SECOND external monitor and I bought it hastily. Now I'm stuck stupidly not knowing how to take advantage of the second external monitor. The laptop does have an HDMI output, but the monitor has VGA and DVI input. My question: is it possible to invest in an adapter to convert from HDMI to DVI/VGA and have both external monitors work simultaneously with one being the primary and the other being an extended desktop? (Basically I want to treat the laptop as a desktop pc with a dual monitor setup. I don't want to use the lcd on the laptop)
Thanks!
