My HP Envy 15-3033CL doesn't seem to use the Radeon 6970m.

I have a brand new HP Envy 15-3033CL and it never seems to switch over to the discrete Radeon 7690m and only uses the integrated intel one. Games run much slower than then should and DxDiag and the Windows Experience Index only show the intel HD.

Hello,

Your Envy 15-3033CL uses Dynamic Switchable Graphics, You will need to force an applicaion to run under High Performance using the Catalyst Control Center.

Alternatively, you can go into F10 Setup and select FIXED Mode switchable graphics - this will make High performance adaptor the default.

I assigned several applications a High Performance setting in the CCC Switchable Graphics settings including C:\Windows\System32\dxdiag.exe . None of them report access to the Radeon GPU untilI go into F10 Setup and select FIXED Mode. However, FIXED mode leads to high temps when on AC and doesn't allow dynamicaly switching back to the Intel HD graphics in battery mode without shutting down applications. I'd rather assign select applications to run with high performance as advertised, any advice how to make this work?

It appears current HP Envy 15s don't permit assignment of applications to run High Performance mode with the Switchable Graphics feature. Doesn't this mean that Switchable Graphics is essentially inoperable even though this configuration has been released for months?
