My taskbar is messed up and can't switch back to an aero style

I have two problems with my taskbar and aero

1. My taskbar is stuck on the "classic" style and when I try to switch it to an aero style it switches back automatically.

2. When I try to go and pick a color that usually displays when it's transparent and the colors, It is the old style of changing the colors like if I didn't have aero (even though I do).

Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1

Went through the guide and checked the transparency and when I choose a color It switches to Windows color and appearance instead of all the colors I can choose from.

1.  The full Model No. and Product No. of your dv6 series notebook - see Here for a further explanation.

2.  The full version of the operating system you are using ( ie Windows 7 32bit or 64bit )?

3.  How long have you had this problem?

4.  What is the full name of your graphics adapter?
