@tbartholomew
I can't see your images, but I honestly hope that is the case.
I'm pushing for some official response from HP, hoping to see it soon if that is truly the case... They are replacing my laptop, hopefully it will be fixed in mine as well. I will certainly report back my findings. Curious, have you tried any of the apps/games listed in this thread?

Milliemillz21 wrote:Hey guys i just ordered this laptop for use of gaming(World Of Warcraft, Secondlife, Sims 3) and for school(Microsoft Office & Photoshop) by the looks of it, if im understanding correctly most of the programs i listed above wont run at all on this machine?
The ones with issues point to OpenGL programs, which should include Second Life and Photoshop. See this informal list:

@tbartholomew
You have the dynamic switching scheme we all have. Try and assign an OpenGL based program and run it in high performance. It wont kick in. Best way to check for OpenGL performance is if you get a benchmark program called Cinebench. If you do the OpenGL test in there the IGP with only get a score of 8FPS. If the dGPU works it would be well over 40FPS

@kurosawa
Thank you for telling me about cinebench. Just like you said even when I set cinebench to high performance, the radeon graphics card did not turn on. My score is 10.33 fps (highlighted in orange) which is horrible.
Sorry for the false hope everyone. The graphics card still wont work OpenGL software. I will be returning my laptop soon.

I finally gave up waiting for HP to fix this issue. I ordered a Sager today. No more switchable graphics issues will ever bother me!
You guys that are sticking with HP--GOOD LUCK!! (and take care. adios)

Yeah sorry to burst your bubble tbartholomew ![]()
I am, however, jealous that you can get over 10 FPS on cinebench! I only get 8.8!
But seriously, this is not acceptable and you should return your laptop.
Post your review of the laptop here to warn potential buyers of the problems:

Well, some good news. I just called HP to return my laptop. The support technician and the guy that handles making the labels, both knew about the graphics card issue and were very sorry. So finally HP has acknowledged the problem and is informing all of its employees. The support technician said he was told of the problem today, so hopefully HP makes an official statement to the public soon.
However, no one that I talked to had any idea of when the problem will be fixed. The support technician and his supervisor said there will probably not be a solution within the week, thus causing me to take a full refund and go with another company since I need my laptop for school.
HP's customer support is very friendly, but since it took them over a month and a half to acknowledge a widespread problem, I have very little trust in them as a company.
If you plan on waiting it out, I wish you good luck, my time has ran out.
