Pavilion dv6-1350us - HDMI driver problems

Brand new Pavilion DV6-1350US - Windows 7 x64 bit.   HDMI would not produce sound on the same device as the Video (TV-Monitor received Video but no Audio; audio remained on notebook).

Downloaded and install new Video and Audio drivers from HP site - now audio works, but Video only works correctly on extended monitor.   Pavilion display now constantly reverts to a mode where it is unusable and requires constant adjustment in control panel to "adjust gamma" .   Disconnecting 2nd (extended) display does not help.

Any advice?  Thanks

Re: Pavilion dv6-1350us - HDMI driver problems

Hello,

I also have a brand new dv6-1350us (win7 64 bit).

I encountered the same problem - video worked, audio didn't work with default drivers.

I also updated the drivers from HP's website, now I don't get either audio or video with HDMI.

Thanks,

Prafulla

Re: Pavilion dv6-1350us - HDMI driver problems

Hi, I have the same laptop, to start the audio through the HDMI its pure digital and the audio driver just visualize which is the output the system its using, the video card its the one process the audio for the HDMI output on the system. The HP drivers for the video card its kind of generic drivers, you need to UPDATE the driver from NVIDIA selecting your right Video card, I have the GeForce 9200M GS. The HP drivers for the NVIDIA does not have the audio HDMI-HDTV option. Once you update the drivers, you launch the nvidia control panel, then you need to connect the laptop to a TV, that enables the TV option for the audio we need to activate. Once you do that under display change resolution you have select the TV icon on the step 1, on the step 2 you have the connector option, that's where you have the HDMI-HDTV audio option on parenthesis the audio enable disable option once you apply the changes will as a confirmation screen accept the changes. That's the HDMI audio activation, now you need to open the IDT audio control panel, select HDIM and sets as default playback device, by the way the icon of the TV its on this screen, that's the last step. To verify play any audio or video file and you will be able to have video on the HDMI output. I know its a lot of steps but I found all this by trying on thing and another.
