DEVICE SPECS: I have an HP Pavillion dv9500t CTO Notebook PC; Windows Vista 32-bit.; There is no error message.; No changes were made to the system before the issue occured; The screen is IN TACT, but it is not displaying anything.
PROBLEM: The display (factory 17" screen) has fallen off the hinges. It is completely inaccessable and it does not work. I cannot access the BIOS/Recovery partition from the start-up screen. I am now running off an old CRT monitor which works fine, but I only have access to the main Operating System.
My HP Pick Up and Return warranty EXPIRED two years ago, and the Computer Repair Shop close to me said $270 was the standard price to fix the screen and $70 for an estimate on top of that!
Does HP offer a standard repair service to their customers and if so what would the charges be to fix the screen? Or does anyone know hwo to fix this? Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
JABX.
