Problem with 2 graphisc cards

I have Pavilion dv7 4010sw ( core i3 350, 3gb ram, intel gma + radeon 5470, win 7 x64). My problem is graphisc card performance, in 2 first months in worked very good, but then started working horrible. I tried many things ( drivers, cleaning, ect. ) but it did nothing. So i decided to use recovery partition and now i have fabric settings but there s still this problem. My unlce said that the reason of this is that i have installed directx 9, intel gma works on directx 10, and radeon 5470 workd on directx 11 and windows doesnt know what to do. He said that i shoul turn off intel graphisc in BIOS ( give it 0 memory ) but i dont know how to do it and i dont want to do something wrong ;( . Can somebody help me to do this or find another way ? Please help!

thn install latest 5470 card driver. Thn check the performance of your GPU performance.

Hmmm did You read this?... it s a Powerpoint presentation and WMA audio.... I tried to install new drivers before but it didnt help anything so now i ll wait instaling drivers.  And about Directx - i wrote that the problem is that intel gma uses directx 10 and radeon 5470 uses directx 11, and directx 9 i have installed because older games didnt work because of missing directx 9 files. So what can i do??

And when i said about weak performance i mean that in games i had 60 fps i have 25-30 now, like in heroes 5, when i play on map it looks like slideshow...

Re: Problem with 2 graphisc cards

Do you use the same system to surf the web? Some viruses can slow down the system proces. To make sure your cpu is properly identified use cpu-z. Plz stop all unncesary progrms frm Task manager. Plz try to run games in optimal (defaults)settings. If you are not using 5470 driver frm this link, thn plz use this driver :-

Re: Problem with 2 graphisc cards

You cant do anythin with your GPU to increase or resolve the FPS issue or GPU performnace issue. Only you can do , use latest drivers, latest directx (11), use default seting in game , proper power supply, check game system requirement , if issue stil persist thn sytem recovery once thn install proper, latest and correct drivers again. after recovey if issue persist thn may b hardware issue//

User (ImNothing) updated the drivers, performed system recovery .. and as he said the performance was good before then the games are meeting requirements....

so issue is somewhere else....

Ok Pankay i'll do like u said :smileywink:   but then i have a question: if i install graphisc driver updates do i have to uninstall old drivers? Last time i didnt do it but now i'd like to be sure about it. Do i have to install both drivers or only 1 of them ? - http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-88549-1&lc=pl&dlc=pl&cc=pl&...  - ATI+Intel    and     http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-89098-1&lc=pl&dlc=pl&cc=pl&...   Intel   ( sorry but i didnt find it in English so it s in my native language - Polish...)

Theese are photos of my BIOS settings : http://img856.imageshack.us/g/p4251041.jpg/  - there isnt and option to disable intel graphics card... hmm there isn't much to do in Hp bios....

Re: Problem with 2 graphisc cards

[ Edited ]

Hmmm ok but i ve done it before i used recovery - i ve updated BIOS, chipset, sound and graphisc... of course i can do it again but will it help something? And i think drivers arent a soulution because everything was perfect on theese old drivers i ve got now and then the problem appeard. And can the problem be that radeon works on other directx that intel gma? And i ve red the forum and i see that many people have problems with radeon 5470 and switchable graphisc. And what about BIOS - i cant turn off intel card? I know i ask muuuuch questions but i dont know what to do ;/

U said that it s good to uninstall old drivers - when i have 2 cards i have to uninstall both cards drivers yep?

Re: Problem with 2 graphisc cards

Yup  uninstall both the drivers... (uninstalling drivers will efect the graphics quality and resolution of your PC)

and you should not worry about the DirectX

as "Windows 7 is fully compatible with games and hardware that use older versions of DirectX, the new DirectX 11 features are available with a DirectX 11 compatible graphics card and games designed to take advantage of this new technology."

and nothing can be done about the BIOS.. HP grants limited access in BIOS to its users...

Also...

Disable the programs u do not want to run on startup..

click start >> type "msconfig" press enter.. in startup tab... disable programs except antivirus and important ones...

in services tab.. check "hide microsoft services" then click on disable all..

then check performance...

if this resolves the issue then we can narrow down the exact cause of the issue..
