Probook 6565b dual monitor issue

Good afternoon.

 

im working with an HP probook 6565b running windows 7 SP1 x64.  this system is in a docking station.  i also have a secondary monitor (LG 19" widescreen) connected via the DVI port on the dock.  my problem is this.

 

whenever a boot the system the LG monitor does not automatically detect.  i have to physically unplug and replug the DVI cable from behind the dock for the monitor to come on.  this happens everytime i boot up.

 

Drivers are completely up to date.

i have tried every combination of new monitor new PC and new dock. and always have to unplug-replug DVI.

ive changed the sleep settings to never on both battery and plug power.

 

i also have tried using admin account as opposed to user account when logging in.  same result.

 

ANY help on this would be greatly welcomed.

i should also note that this originally started with a VGA cable and was swapped out to DVI.  so it is not a cabling problem.  tried a total of 4 cables...
