Alright, can someone please set the record straight for me? I want to know if what I'm dealing with is normal for all of the HP laptops with the 7690 GPU's. I have an HP Envy 15 (2012 model). I went into the BIOS and set GPU switching to 'fixed' and disabled PowerPlay, but had to re-enable it to get good performance. Even with those settings, my games will randomly slow down progressively until the framerate is less than 1. I have to close out of the game and wait for the CPU usage to drop down from 100% to ~2% before I can do anything again. This happens with every game I play (eg. Skyrim, Assassin's Creed, Nitronic Rush, Mass Effect 1, 2, and 3, and VisualBoyAdvance emulator. I guess it doesn't really matter how CPU or GPU intensive the game is, either way it'll just slow down (but never crash). I read about how the current driver doesn't support OpenGL and how 12.2 and 12.3 drivers fix the problem, so I installed 12.3 without uninstalling the previous drivers. There is no difference; my problem still persists. I don't know if it's just my imagination, but it seems like moving my laptop around while playing a game will sometimes cause this problem to happen. If this happens to everybody, I'll just wait until a new driver is released from HP. If this is just something that's happening to me, I'll send it in and get it repaired. Any responses / help will be greatly appreciated.
I have all of the latest drivers and updates installed. I'm on the F.08 BIOS
Edit: combing through forums, might be a faulty HDD. I'm really not sure.

I'm having the exact same problem. Have you found any more information on a possible solution?
