Hey HP/AMD. So far here is a list of software that either is not supported at all because it is OpenGL based or OpenGL is preferred but the dynamic switching defaults to the IGP. Users please update as necessary.
Amnesia: Dark Descent
Rage (upcoming is OpenGL based, not DirectX)
Counterstrike
Half-Life
Doom 4 (upcoming)
Homeworld 2
Minecraft!!!! (super popular)
Star Wars: Jedi Knight
Star Wars: Knights of Old Republic
World of Warcraft
Adobe After Effects
Adobe Premiere
Adobe Photoshop
Autodesk Maya
XBMC Media Center

HI ,
i updated my BOIS to the lastest version and downloaded this from AMD site, and i followed the instruction mentioned here , but i dont know now how to test the switching , is it by only opening the applications i assigned to work with High performance in Catalyst control center ? and from where to know what is the active GPU now ?
PS: the link mentioned for AMD site for WIN 64 bit versions , by the way here are some drivers hotfixes from AMD

is there any application to see what is the active GPU for instance from device manager something like this ... by the way if i opened High graphical game it will switch directly to the Radeon GPU automatically or i must go to Catalyst control center any assign this game to be played with Radeon GPU?

I had this same problem. HP now has a fix for all their laptops with switchable graphics. It is a BIOS fix, you can download it from the driver section of what ever laptop model you have, I have a dv7-6143cl (also from costco) This is a recent fix (June-Aug 11 depending on model). After you download the fix and run it, it will flash the BIOS and then reboot. Reboot the machine again and Then hit F10 while booting to go into BIOS setup, switch the Switchable Graphics section from DYNAMIC to FIXED. Then boot to your desktop, right click desktop, click Switch Configurable graphics, and you can select to have your dedicated card on all the time, or the integrated. You can also set to have the dedicated on all the time while plugged in and to auto switch to integrated on battery to save power. Hope this helps. I used GPUZ to verify card and it now shows up properly and with the right clock speeds, (it did not before). If you do not switch it to fixed from dynamic in BIOS settings, you won't be able to choose!
